Good, but below what I suspected.

I recieved the book recently, and was expecting great reference as usual from the Expert Radiology series (I own almost the whole series). But this book mildly disappointed me. I'm radiologist, and presence of many morphology related material within this book is of lack usage for me. Second point, presented text and images, are for entry level practicing radiologists, either than "deep diggin" material that is crucial for professionals, who need a good referrence in challenging cases. Overall good book, may be "must have" for residents or first years practicing radiologists; but for me it is not enough. Thanks authors for their effort!

About the Author

Pierre Capretz is the creator of French in Action and a pioneer in video-based foreign-language instruction. He taught French at Yale University from 1956 to 2003 and was director of the Yale Language Laboratory from 1963 to 2000. Barry Lydgate is professor of French at Wellesley College.

Best French learning book!

Bonjour! This is a very good book and very useful when accompanied by its workbook and dvds.

I took French beginner's course at UC Berkeley Extension and they recommended this book. I was very happy with their recommendation.
There are tons of french teaching coursed and books out there in the market. Choosing the right book with a combination material is the right way to start. Do not get confused with so many authors and editions. Just stick to one and buy the accompanying dvds, workbook and voila! you are all set.

Self-learning is a bit difficult, I suggest joining a good institute and follow their process to learn. French is a difficult language to learn and to hone the skills esp. in speaking. The pronunciation is really what that matters when learning French. So go for it and Bonne chance!

Now THIS is a French home study worth every cent! With DVDs, a coordinating text and a workbook, learning just happens. The DVD content was developed by knowledgeable educators. Theres instructional classroom time. An entertaining video of French people going through daily life to reinforce what was taught in class. Other French media is also included to add cultural interest. I've tried several other means of learning the language. This one is superb!

Fantastique! An effective and entertaining way to learn French. Le professeur est merveilleux! The story of the characters is enticing. The scenery of PARIS makes you feel like you're there.
