About the Author
Roseann Gonzalez is Director of the National Center for Interpretation at the University of Arizona. She is also a Professor and Director of the Writing Skills Improvement Program in the Department of English at the University of Arizona. Victoria Vasquez is Director of the Office of the Court Interpreter at the Arizona Superior Court in Pima County. Holly Mikkelson is an Adjunct Professor at the Monterey Institute of International Studies, a graduate school of Middlebury College.

The second addition of Fundamentals of Court Interpretation is a more than timely update to the premier book of legal interpretation. I enjoyed that it has more than 20 years worth of updates from ongoing research and feedback from thousands of court interpreters assimilated into the new edition. It even begins to speak to the ever growing issue of language access in the court system of the United States. Chapter 20, Custodial Interrogations, is one of the many chapters that lend real academic accreditation and true real life cases Dr. Gonzalez personally testified at, where language access and linguistic accommodations can lead to detrimental outcomes to the delivery of justice.
